Personal Impression
Mombo makes you feel like you are in the best possible place to see and experience Botswana. The view from the lodge main bar area is breathtaking.  A vast expanse is right in front of you and always has animals to view.  Elephants graze within yards of the where you sit and eat your breakfast.  The monkeys are everywhere, and right in front of your "tent" are herds of animals.  This is a truly special place and well deserving of it accolades from Conde Nast.  During our stay as we were about to leave on a game drive an Elephant was right in front of our jeep. Touching distance. We waited for him to amble on before we set off to explore the surrounding area.  This is really "up close and personal" with the animals.

Location of the camp and game viewing.
The camp is located in the Moremi Game Reserve off the north-western tip of Chiefs Island in the Okavango Delta.  The area is game rich with game viewing of a variety of animals without even leaving your private verandah.  Fly in is the normal way to access Mombo.  The game drives here are really fantastic. The diversity and numbers of game of all types is quite astounding. Taking a picture of a giraffe with next to a palm tree makes this region of Botswana something really memorable and different from the rest of Africa.

Accommodations
There eight guest  tents in the main complex and three additional tents in Little Mombo just a short 4 minute walk away over the raised walkway.  The raised wood walkways connect all the rooms with the main lodge. The tents (large and luxurious) are all raised way above the ground which allows the animals to roam freely through the camp and provides safety for the guests.  Each tent is very private with indoor and out door showers, no bath tub, large verandahs and all have excellent game viewing right from your room.. from your room.. The main lodge has rooms on either side. You cannot use a hairdryer at Mombo but you can use a curling iron, and charge your camera battery.

Internet access
You are out of touch with the world.

Dining and wines
A delightful dining area with a magnificent view sets the stage for wonderful meals. The food here is really excellent, good variety and quality.  Breakfast on the deck while your eggs are cooked to order gazing at the animals right in front of you is definitely "a table with a view."  Dinner in the Boma is really quite magical at Mombo. The staff dance and sing and the firelight in the middle of the Boma lights up the area amazingly well.  An experience one wont forget. After dinner sitting around the fireplace with special coffees or after dinner drinks in hand is the perfect end to what will always be a special day  at Mombo.

Spa
All type of spa treatments are available at Mombo. A nice thing to do in the afternoon..

Summary
This is a very luxurious, game rich camp and will stay in your memory forever. People return here year after year because of the comfortable surroundings, excellent food and really spectacular game viewing.
