Cape Town to Hermanus

You will be collected from V&A Waterfront Hotel at 8.30 am for your private tour to Cape Point.  Restroom stops are available at Camps Bay, the Ostrich Farm Cape Point, the Black Marlin restaurant (lunch on your own account rather than a set lunch included) and our final stop the Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach.

The trip to Cape Point is a must for any Cape Town visitor. Enjoy a scenic drive along the coast to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, with indigenous flora and fauna, including baboons, buck and wonderful beaches. A stop will be made at an Ostrich Farm for a restroom break and where you can also see a great selection of Ostrich Eggs and leather goods. The southern end of the Cape Peninsula boasts two points of interest; the Cape of Good Hope and the more southerly and a bit higher situated Cape Point. Both the Capes are situated in the Good Hope section of the Cape Peninsula National Park. You can walk or ride the cable car to the lighthouse.  You will enjoy lunch at the Black Marlin restaurant (your own account) and then visit the Jackass Penguins on Boulders Beach.  Coming home you will proceed along the False Bay coastline back to Cape Town.  The tour will end with your transfer to Birkenhead House late afternoon.

CHITWA-CHITWA GAME LODGE

Originally a private family retreat, Chitwa-Chitwa earned its name as an affectionate ode to the giraffe bull that shared the lakeside home as an extended member of the Brink family. Much like the giraffe around which this charming tale of Chitwa-Chitwa is centered, the private game lodge is magnificent and graceful in appearance, yet humble enough to evaporate into the surrounding beauty of the unspoiled bush of the Sabi Sand,Chitwa-Chitwa’s distinctive charm is translated into the detailed furnishings of the accommodation. Natural colors and textures meld with the beauty of nature’s paintbrush to replicate the serenity of the African bush indoors. Each large individually decorated suite has its own private plunge pool, framed by a spacious timber deck that overlooks the nearly lake – a popular drinking hole for local wildlife.

In additional to daily game drives and walks, you may also benefit from the resident masseuse or pay a visit to a local village, Chitwa-Chitwa is highly acclaimed for its excellent game viewing and can boast some of the best opportunities to meet Africa’s big five.  Highly qualified guides and Shangaan trackers ensure an unforgettable African safari by enriching the experience with their profound knowledge regarding this animal kingdom and its complex habitat.
