West Bank Sights
The highlight of the West Bank is of course the
Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens. However the area
has other interesting aspects and simply driving around here is
fascinating. Below are some of the highlights. The people
watching here was quite incredible.

Colossi of Memnon
These two giant statues of Amenophis III were originally in
front of his mortuary temple. There is nothing left of the
temple but these two 59ft high statutes are just sitting there all
by themselves next to farm land. You will see them as you
drive by and may stop for a picture. |

People watching and scenery
We found driving around on the West bank really fascinating.
Everywhere you look there is one ruin or another. There are hundreds
of tombs and ruins of temples in this area. The people too were
interesting. The children are very friendly here always waving and
this is an area where everyone is busy going about their daily
lives. |
