Luxor Temple
Luxor Temple is in walking distance of the ship. It only
takes a few minutes to get to the entrance. Luxor is an
impressive sight. This is a huge area and the columns are really
spectacular. The hieroglyphics are still in remarkable condition.
As you enter the front of the temple the columns stretch off into
the distance. At one time there was a road linking Luxor
Temple to Karnark Temple and huge processions would move from one
temple to the other. Part of this road is still in tact and a
picture is below. |

The road linking Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple

Karnak Temple
This is a short drive by van from the boat. It
only takes about 10 minutes. Karnak Temple is the scene for the
sound and light show in the evening. It is a long show and you waong show and you walk
through the temple as the show progresses. There are
some wonderful moments but anyone who has difficulty walking or
standing for a long period should give this show a miss.
At the end of the show there is an area where you are seated. The
show lasts about an hour a half. This is a fascinating temple
and is massive. It would be easy to spend all day at this one site. |
